So in the next apartment, I know I want to create an intimate little bistro-type dining setup in the dining nook–very French cafe, sitting-close-together-sipping-wine type of feel. But I have a big ole' post talking about that later this week so details to come. I also toyed with the idea of bringing in a kitchen cart or island because there's a big open space in the middle of the kitchen. Alas, I don't think it will fit.

Fortunately, in my extensive searches of the interwebs, I did want to share with you a few gems that I found–particularly the $400 marble top kitchen island from Target and $350 marble bistro table from Pier One (which was just on sale for $298... an even greater deal)! Those prices are insane considering the more expensive alternatives that are out there...

I actually purchased the Pier One bistro table while it was on sale to see the size and how it looks in person and the quality is impressive! I don't love the finish of the base... it kind of has a faux distressed thing going on–but for the price, I can deal. Worst case, you get a can of spray paint and go over it with a coat or two to get a matte black finish. As for the size, you can 100% fit four dinner plates on it. Like I said, intimate seating like the Europeans do it! Fine by me.
